Google disrupts 1.3 million-device Android TV box botnet linked to maker Videostrong

Google◼ and industry partners dismantled the XCPE◆ botnet of more than 1.3 million Android TV boxes after its servers lost control in late October. Google says it is highly confident that manufacturer Videostrong◼ intentionally installed a backdoor and sold access to criminals, who used the devices for ad fraud and residential proxy traffic. Google has banned the TV box maker.
