Hackers send fake nuclear and air raid alerts through Ukrainian and Russian emergency apps

Ukraine and Russia both say attackers compromised their emergency alert apps, in Ukraine and an app run by the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Russia, sending false air raid, nuclear, chemical and street fighting warnings. Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation temporarily disabled Air Alarm for maintenance, while Russia said it was restoring its app and that other alert channels still worked. Experts see the attack as a worrying escalation.
