UNM Health diverts ambulances and cancels clinic appointments after cybersecurity incident

UNM Health◼, the operator of New Mexico's only Level 1 trauma centre, diverted ambulance traffic and cancelled appointments across more than 30 clinics on 26 October after a cybersecurity incident. The organisation said the event affected some end-user devices but not core systems or servers, and it activated an Emergency Operations Center and notified state and federal law enforcement. Presbyterian Healthcare Services and Lovelace Health System took on additional patients, and systems were reported back to normal the following day.
